![]() A few TunnelBear alternatives like UltraSurf, Free VPN, TouchVPN, and Betternet Free VPN, also offer similar features. ![]() It also offers military-grade AES 256-bit encryption that keeps you and your browsing activity completely secure. Once downloaded, TunnelBear provides high speed with no buffering or lags. In case you opt for the free plan, you get 500 MB of secure browsing. It’s available in over 41 countries and offers two premium plans for users with high internet usage. The free application provides users with a range of services, including the option to bypass region-specific restrictions, hide their IP address, block trackers, protect online privacy, and more. But man.TunnelBear is a user-friendly VPN service that is available for download on your Windows computer. So, I really think to switch to UpNote to prevent this cumbersome workflow. Notes: I'm on a Windows computer all day long to do my work and have access to a Mac where I use Things 3, Fantastical and Bear combined with a Logitech K860 and a MX Master 3 mouse which give my the ability to switch between both computers and also copy/paste but switching between the two computers came with keyboard shortcuts switch and this is pain in the ass. If you have a Mac, I should say Bear is the winner in term of features, beauty, UI/UX design and security. Sum up, UpNote is a very very very good application and for someone just needing an application to takes notes, this is now the application to use in Windows. With Bear, you have to be log in your iCould account which is a big concern if you have for example a work account you working on and you want to access at the same time you Bear personal account. UpNote could be access by username and password so you can access your notes from anywhere. My rule of thumb: never write something you are not 100% ok someone with bad intentions could read it. Ok, UpNote guys will say they will never access your notes without your permission but if they are hacked, the hackers could have the key to access your notes. ![]() With Bear, all your notes are stored on your iCloud account so Bear workers will never be able to access your notes. Yes, UpNote say those notes are encrypted at rest which mean they are encrypted on their servers but UpNote could decrypted those notes. UpNote notes are stored on the UpNote cloud storage so it is less secure than Bear. UpNote has more formatting options but there are a lot of them that are not compatible with markdown guidlines so if you want to stay compliant with that standard, remember that you will lose a couple of your formatting. UpNote is cheaper in the long term if you buy the lifetime. With Bear, the only way I found is to export the note and then search within that result. You can search within a note with UpNote using a Phone. You can obtain a similar type of result with Bear but it's harder. It's easier to take a backup of your note with UpNote because you can create a folder with all note in a separate markdown file. It's like comparing Todoist with Tick Tick. I wish the company will grow to expand the features set but not at a point of being convulted like Evernote.
